The Cooley House Foundation will continue our work to restore this rare example of Prairie style architecture, through the help of volunteers and support of our members and donors. Please consider joining or donating to the preservation effort here. In the upcoming months, we will:
Install a projects sign to educate the public about recent work and goals as well as recognize major supporters.
Clean and rework the pond and fountain along South Grand, with the help of the Monroe Garden Club.
Locate and install reproduction light fixtures to match originals.
Complete upgrades to the electrical system to provide safe, efficient power to the entire house.
Install missing landscape features, including a bed of antique roses shown in historic photos.
Replicate original paint finishes and colors on interior rooms.
Replace 1926 flooring on second floor.
